Key Features of the Galaxy M53 5G

The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is the top-of-the-line of the Samsung M series. It has a 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 900 CPU with vapor cooling, and a 108-megapixel main camera.

Plastic makes up most of the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G's construction. It has a solid feel to it, but it's not the most luxurious. Samsung also doesn't include a charger; all you receive is a USB Type-C to Type-C connector. The phone can be charged with any USB Type-C charger, but for fast charging, you'll need a 25W charger.

The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is a big phone that weighs 178 g, which makes it hard to use with one hand. The fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy M53 5G is located on the side of the phone, making it more accessible and facilitating a faster unlocking process. The device has a hybrid SIM slot, so storage expansion comes at the expense of a second SIM.

The phone doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which could prevent some people from buying it. It also doesn't have stereo speakers, which are usually found on other smartphones in this price range.

The large Super AMOLED Plus screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is sharp and has excellent viewing angles. It offers a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and several colour options to select from. The Galaxy M53 5G is available with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. It is possible to use up to 6GB of storage as RAM with Samsung's “RAM Plus” feature. The amount of storage space is unchanged at 128 GB.

Samsung's One UI 4.1 skin is applied to Android 12 out of the box. It's worth noting that Samsung has guaranteed two years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches for its Galaxy M53 5G smartphone. It should keep the phone working nicely for a while.

Video games ran well and smoothly on the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G. The back of the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G has four cameras:

  • The main camera has 108 megapixels.
  • An ultra-wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels.
  • A macro camera with 2 megapixels.
  • A depth camera with 2 megapixels.

The camera on this phone could lock focus quickly and had no problems adjusting the exposure correctly. The photos taken in the daytime were clear and detailed. The ultra-wide camera's colour tone was comparable to that of the primary camera, which was a bonus. The photos it captured were not as detailed. Edge detection was excellent in the portrait pictures. Despite its limitations, the macro camera produced some decent results.

The camera's low-light performance was likewise respectable, but there was a lack of detail in the darker parts of these photos. Using night mode helped, but the phone took 3–4 seconds to shoot a picture.

Pixel-binned 8-megapixel photographs are taken by default with the 32-megapixel selfie camera. During the day, Portrait mode did a good job of finding the edges of the subject's face. This made for photos that looked natural.

This phone has a maximum video resolution of 4K at 30fps and relies on electronic image stabilisation (EIS) to stabilise the footage. The battery life on the Galaxy M53 5G is excellent. The 5,000 mAh battery lasted more than a full day with normal use. The charger you use will have an impact on the charging speed.
